Tri-County Regional Planning Commission

Regional issues involving transportation and live-work patterns prompted the Village of Roanoke to create a comprehensive plan to manage change. The Community Improvement Advisory Board, a group of residents convened by the Village Board, facilitated the planning process. The inventory of existing conditions identified a lack of capacity in the sanitary sewer system, inefficient highway access to Bloomington-Normal, voids in retail services, and other issues. The goals and objectives of the plan were targeted to address these issues while realizing the vision of Roanoke to accommodate moderate growth while retaining small town values.
