Nicole Nutter, Transportation Planner for TCRPC, has accepted a planning position with the Regional Transportation Authority in Chicago. The RTA is the agency that oversees the operation of Metra, CTA, and PACE train and bus systems. At RTA, she will work with communities to encourage and plan for transit oriented development. Her last day at the Commission will be September 19.
While at TCRPC, Nutter has advanced the work of the Commission and PPUATS in several ways. Nutter has worked with the PPUATS committee on regional transportation project development and funding, and she has developed transportation documents including the Long Range Transportation Plan and Transportation Improvement Program. She has worked to advance non-motorized transportation and integrate transit into the regional transportation system. She has also served as Vice-President of the Central Illinois Chapter of Advancing Women in Transportation (WTS) and was Treasurer of the HOI Chapter of the American Society for Public Administration. As a Morton resident, she has volunteered her expertise on community advisory committees.
In the "Advancing Women in Transportation" September newsletter, Nutter states, "The opportunity to work here has been great both professionally
and personally. Central Illinois truly is an amazing place."
Niki's co-workers wish to thank her for how she has given them good advice, devoted extra effort to help them with their projects, and livened the office environment in her three years here. Best wishes to you, Niki!
