Peoria GIS is an intergovernmental partnership between the City of Peoria, Peoria County and the Greater Peoria Sanitary District. Its mission is to develop, maintain, distribute, and promote GIS for the overall benefit of the citizens of Peoria County. Tri-County acts as staff to this organization. PGIS has two oversight committees:
This committee is responsible for managing and operating the GIS, establishing policy and developing regulations for use of the GIS, approving expenditures related to the update and maintenance of the Peoria GIS data, and approving an appropriate fee structure for access to and/or use of the GIS data.
This committee is primarily responsible for defining and developing GIS data sets, establishing standards for collecting and recording information and identifying equipment necessary to process and disseminate GIS information. The Technical Committee reports to and advises the Policy Committee on matters related to development and implementation of policy.
