The PLBA is composed of three agencies that coordinate efforts to restore and preserve the ecological, recreational, cultural and economic attributes of the Peoria Lakes. The Commission, the Heartland Water Resources Council, and the Nature Conservancy work together to ensure a coordinated and successful unified message for the restoration and revitalization of the Illinois River and Peoria Lakes.
Regional in scope, this committee addresses storm water management issues and consists of elected officials, public works staff, planners, engineers, and natural resources professionals. The committee oversaw the development of Honoring our Water: A Regional Stormwater Plan for Peoria, Tazewell and Woodford Counties of Illinois.
This committee’s mission is to advocate groundwater protection practices and procedures to municipal, county, state, and other local units of government. The committee encompasses Mason, Peoria, Tazewell and Woodford Counties. TCRPC has a representative on this committee.
